A Heartfelt Goodbye ❤️

A heartfelt thank you from Reiju 💛

Dear Reiju family,

This is one of the hardest emails we’ve ever had to write.

After a great deal of thought, we want to let you know that Reiju will be closing in January.

What started back in 2014 as a small part-time venture for Michelle, once our three bundles of joy started infant school, grew into something far bigger than we ever imagined. Over the years, Reiju became a full-time business that supported both of us and, by 2021, up to four wonderful members of staff. That is something we will always be incredibly proud of.

We weathered many challenges together, including Covid, and during that time we made the big decision to swap our warehouse for a brick-and-mortar shop, running our online store alongside it. The first year and a half was exciting and full of hope.

Then the cost-of-living crisis hit.

Rising energy bills, increased food costs, and higher expenses across the board meant that, quite simply, people had less spare money to spend — something completely understandable, but devastating for small businesses like ours.

Michelle and I have now both returned to full-time employment, and sadly this no longer leaves us with the time needed to process orders and run Reiju to the standard you deserve.

This decision hasn’t come easily. Reiju has been a huge part of our lives for over a decade, and saying goodbye is incredibly emotional. But alongside the sadness, there is also a sense of gratitude — and even excitement — for what the future holds.

More than anything, we want to say thank you.

Thank you for supporting a small family business.

Thank you for every order, message, visit, recommendation, and kind word.

Thank you for believing in what we created.

Reiju has always been about more than crystals — it’s been about connection, intention, and community — and that is something we will carry with us forever.
